BOKO HARAM IN FOR PEACE TALK

A purported spokesman for the Nigerian militant group Boko Haram says the group is engaged in direct talks with the government on ending violence in the country's north.
Habu Mohammed, who claims to be a deputy to Boko Haram leader Sheikh Abubakar Shekau, says the militant group decided to initiate the peace moves in response to numerous public appeals for peace in the country. The statement was given to Voice Of America [VOA] in Mecca.
The Nigerian government has not responded to the claim, but senior Nigerian official speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed the talks. They would not provide additional details.
Several previous attempts by the Nigerian government to engage Boko Haram have failed.
The militant group has said it is fighting to create an Islamic state in northern Nigeria and says it does not recognize the Nigerian government or the constitution.
I want to reiterate it here once again that Nigeria is a secular state and that should not be compromised for anything. If they want Islamic state, the government should pay for their ticket to Mecca or any of those Arab countries. I mean no disrespect to the religion but I feel these people are only trying to do something bigger in Nigeria/Africa if we concede to this deceit. For crying out loud, are they saying all Muslims in the country will now move to the North? May be, there’s something that’s not so clear to me and I need someone to please explain and right my wrongs.
Clamouring for Islamic states is totally unrealistic and means no good for the Nigeria and her citizens.
