Few months ago it came as a rumor, I posted an update then ann promised you guys to let you know when it finally hit the market. here it come! the much talked about BBM on Android is no longer a thing to hope for, it's finally here.
A report had +BlackBerry BBM coming to +Android on Friday and iOS on Saturday. It turns out, it was a day off. The Android version will come on Saturday, while the iOS version hits the App Store on Sunday.
BBM was previously exclusive to BlackBerry users, and is much loved by the BlackBerry faithful. But by expanding it across platforms, BlackBerry is looking to take over the likes of WhatsApp, which has garnered more than 300 million users.
BlackBerry has attempted to rebrand BBM as more than a messaging service, positioning it as more of a social network.
Is this a jealous move by blackberry to gain more ground in the fast and furious social-economy or another irrational move to find stability? Blackberry was said to be on the verge of laying about 40% of its work force off before the end of the year.
