NOUN Restructures its Access Program

The University Management recently restructured the NOUN Access programme. Here are some of the things you need to know:

1. Access Programme is a pre-degree programme that allows applicants to remedy one or two O'level deficiencies relevant to their chosen programme.

2. Application process is similar to that of the full/regular degree programmes.

3. However, the application platform automatically gives the student Access if the student is deficient in any of the compulsory subjects.

4. For example, if the compulsory O'level subjects for B.Sc Business Administration (100L) are English, Maths and Economics/Commerce/Financial Accounting and any other two credits, a student who is deficient in any of the compulsory subjects would be given Access (B.Sc. Business Administration) 40 level.

5. The student would therefore be required to remedy the deficient subject during the one session (2 semester) programme.

6. This remedy is a combination of the internal final exam and the passing of the relevant O'level exams.

7. There are lectures to prepare students to re-take their O'levels.

8. If the student passes the internal exams, they shall be upgraded. But they have up to the end of 200 level to show evidence that they have passed the relevant O'level subject as well.

9. This new structure of the NOUN Access programmes is currently applicable to only the Study Centres in Lagos and it is open for all our undergraduate programmes, except Law.

10. The purpose of this post is to inform those are who are interested, and those who may have friends and relatives who are interested in upgrading themselves academically, to key grab the opportunity.
